Range
- covers your supplies, costs and pay, with no profit.
- keeps that if 1 in 5 of your billable hours goes unbooked.
The formula, with your numbers
Each price is rounded up to the next whole dollar.
What it assumes
- Every billable hour you set gets booked. The top of the range allows for 1 in 5 going unbooked.
- Your monthly costs and pay are shared evenly across those hours.
- Taxes aren't included, so set your pay before tax.
- It comes from your own numbers. It isn't a market price, so compare it with what clients in your area pay.

Questions, answered.
How does the calculator work out my price?
It shares your monthly costs and pay across your billable hours, takes the share for the service's time, adds its supplies, then adds your profit. The result shows each step with your numbers.
What are billable hours?
The hours you spend on paid work for clients. Leave out cleaning up, admin, travel between jobs and the gaps in your day.
Is this the going rate in my area?
No. It's the price your own numbers need. Compare it with what clients in your area pay, then decide.
Why does the range go above the suggested price?
Most weeks have gaps. The top of the range is the price that still pays you if 1 in 5 of your billable hours goes unbooked.
